Double Passes to select screenings at the Lebanese Film Festival (Sydney only)http://www.filmink.com.au/giveaways/750/The Lebanese Film Festival returns for its second year with another terrific showcase of Lebanese cinema, providing an insight into a country, people and culture, which is often misrepresented in the media, or not represented at all. Highlights this year include Circumstance (pictured), an Iranian film banned from filming in Tehran and consequently moved to Beirut for production, revealing the rarity of Lebanon as a liberal enclave in the otherwise conservative Middle East. The political turmoil of the country underpins many of the features, but there are a handful of surprisingly contemporary pieces in the mix including the American/Lebanese comedy Hannah Has A Ho-Phase, the animated My Grandmother Wanted Me A Boy, and the eye-opening doco, The Lebanese Rocket Society.
