The film chronicles the plight of Colette McVeigh (Andrea Riseborough), who is arrested after planting a bomb in a London tube station. She’s delivered to MI5 operative, Mac (Clive Owen), who promptly provides her with a choice: she can go to prison and be separated from her son, or she can go back to Ireland, and become a spy, feeding information back to the agency about the activities of her IRA-affiliated brothers. The anguished Collette chooses to place her trust in Mac. But when her brothers’ secret operation is ambushed, suspicions of an informant are raised and Collette finds herself and her family in grave danger…
