Information on how to enter and the prize forms part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.
Entry is open to Australian residents 16 years and over.
‘Eligible union member’ means a financial member of any union that is currently affiliated with Union Shopper.
‘Electrical Purchasing Service’ means the quote service provided directly by Union Shopper Inc’s Member Services division.
Employees of Union Shopper Inc and their immediate family members are not permitted to enter.
To qualify for an entry into the draw, eligible persons must make a purchase of a household or garden item through the Electrical Purchasing Service between Monday 10 September 2012 and Friday 30 November 2012.
Eligible members will automatically receive one entry into the draw for each household or garden item purchased through the Electrical Purchasing Service. In the case that multiple household or garden items are purchased in a single transaction through the Electrical Purchasing Service, eligible members will automatically receive one entry into the draw for each household or garden item purchased.
Additional entries through multiple transactions are permitted provided that the relevant eligibility criteria are met for each entry.
The first valid entry drawn will win an Apple iPad 3 MD368X/A (or equivalent model should this product become unavailable). The prize is not transferable. The prize cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be refunded or replaced.
The total maximum prize value is $AUD900.
The competition commences on Monday 10 September 2012 and closes at 11.59pm on Friday 30 November 2012.
The winner will be randomly drawn electronically at 1.00pm AEST on Tuesday 11 December 2012 at 25 Baxter Street Fortitude Valley Qld 4006 with the winner being notified in writing by Thursday 13 December 2012.
The competition will be drawn by the Marketing and Business Development Manager at Union Shopper Inc whose decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winner does not need to be present at the draw in order to receive the prize.
Once the winner is determined and announced it will be published in The Australian newspaper on Monday 17 December 2012 and at www.unionshopper.com.au/winipad on Monday 17 December 2012.
If the prize is not claimed by the winner within three months of the initial draw, a redraw will take place at 1.00pm AEST on Tuesday 12 March 2013 at 25 Baxter Street Fortitude Valley Qld 4006 with the winner being notified in writing by Thursday 14 March 2013 and announced at www.unionshopper.com.au/winipad and in The Australian on Monday 25 March 2013.
The winner consents to his or her name, image, suburb of residence and union name being used by Union Shopper Inc for marketing and promotional purposes.
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible or liable for:
(i) any problems or technical failures of any kind, including malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems or network, servers or providers, computer equipment, or software;
(ii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any service whether or not caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website;
(iii) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the competition;
(iv) electronic or human error that may occur in the administration of the competition;
(v) any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner;
(vi) any injury or damage to persons or property, including to the participant's or any other person's computer related to, or resulting from, participation or downloading any materials in this competition;
(vii) any personal injury or damage suffered or incurred in connection with the use of the prizes.
These terms and conditions do not affect, and are not intended to affect, any rights a consumer might have, which cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of the Promoter or its servant or agents for breach of any such rights is limited to the payment of the cost of having the prize supplied again.
