Directed by Australian Ben Lewin, The Sessions is based on the true story of journalist and poet Mark O’Brien (a brilliant performance by John Hawkes). The film is a poignant and surprisingly funny tale of a man, paralysed by polio, who – at age 38 – is determined to finally lose his virginity.
