2012 Christmas Lights Competition
Residents and local businesses in the North Burnett are invited to decorate their homes, windows and gardens in the 'Spirit of Christmas 2012'.
The North Burnett Regional Council proudly sponsors all six regions equally in the Christmas Lights Competition however in Mundubbera the Mundubbera Enterprise Association runs the competition. Mundubbera residents are requested to contact Mrs Loris Doessel from the Mundubbera Enterprise Association on 0429 654 012 for further details on the Mundubbera competition.

Entries for the Biggenden, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto and Mount Perry areas are required to be lodged at Council's Administration Centres by Thursday, 13 December 2012.  Judging will take place during the week commencing Monday, 17 December 2012.

Categories - This year's categories for the Biggenden, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto and Mt Perry areas include:
            Best Residence     •     Best Business    •     Energy Efficiency
Criteria - Displays are judged according to the following criteria:
                                                                           • Visual appeal                         • Uniqueness
                                                                   • Overall impact                        • Variety of decorations used
                                            • Safety and tidiness               • Energy efficient and environmentally friendly options
All entrants must adhere to the terms and conditions stated on the nomination form.
Prizes for the Towns of Biggenden, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto and Mount Perry are as follows:
Residence: First - $75.00   Second - $50.00    Third - $25.00
Business:  First - $60.00  Second - $40.00
Energy Efficient: First - $75.00 Second - $25.00
Ergon Energy is pleased to sponsor the 'Energy Efficient' category to promote energy efficiency and safety, particularly when using Christmas lights. Entrants in the Energy Efficient category require a minimum of 50 per cent of their lighting from solar or LED lights.
• Judges, at their discretion weight entrants on the proportion of solar/LED lights used and the quality of the display.
• Judges must verify that the chosen winners have approximately the proportion of energy efficient lights claimed.
