Oprah Winfrey-endorsed Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence, and will be shown at a special screening at Dendy Cinemas Portside on November 20. Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Miss Representation exposes how American youth are being sold the concept that women and girl’s value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. The Brisbane screening, hosted by The League of Extraordinary Women, will be followed by a panel discussion featuring a selection of influential women from the local media and business scene.
