When long-time pals Jason (Adam Scott) and Julie (Jennifer Westfeldt) decide to have a baby together, their smug-married friends (Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd) are horrified – and bitter that their friends are living the so-called dream. But, while it’s great having the freedom to date other people and avoid the dramas of shared domesticity, Jason and Julie start to wonder if they really thought it all through: the baby, their platonic parenting relationship – everything. This is a solid directorial debut for Westfeldt, who also penned the script. The killer cast alone (including Jon Hamm as you’ve never seen him) is just one great reason to enter. The other, of course, is winning it for your friends-with-kids as a great Christmas gift.
