THE CITY’S CHRISTMAS GIFT GIVEAWAY
HOW TO ENTER & TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the competition conditions.
2. Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3. Prize: There are 14 daily prizes and one major prize for this competition. Each prize will be announced on the
Brisbane City Facebook page at 3pm each day. The prizes are not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be
redeemed for cash. Specific terms and conditions apply for each prize (please email
thecity@brisbanemarketing.com.au for details if required). Any additional expenses incurred by the prize
winners, other than those outlined in these terms and conditions, are the responsibility of the winners. Prize
winners are themselves subject to the specific terms and conditions of the providers.
4. The competition period: The competition commences at 3pm 3 December 2012 and closes at 4pm 21
December 2012.
5. How to enter:
a) Like the ‘Brisbane City’ Facebook Page
b) Complete the entry form on the ‘Brisbane City’ Facebook page by providing full name, email address,
postcode and selecting what you love most about The City. The entry form can only be accessed via desktop.
c) Entrants can share the competition via email, Facebook and Twitter each day for additional entries towards
the grand prize. Entrants must allow Brisbane Marketing to access basic information and the ‘post to my wall’
functionality on Facebook in order to do this. A maximum of two shares via Facebook per day, two shares via
Twitter per day and 20 shares via email per day.
6. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
a) be a permanent resident of the state of Queensland
b) not be an employee or contracted staff of Brisbane Marketing, a sub-unit of administration of the Promoter;
and
c) be over the age of 18 (proof of age may required to receive prize) or have the consent of one of his or her
parents or guardians to enter the competition.
7. Competition Draw: An entrant can only win a daily prize once. The winners will be drawn at random at 2pm
the day after each prize is posted on the Brisbane City Facebook page, with the exception of the major prize
which will be drawn at 4pm on 21 December 2012. The decision shall be conclusive and no correspondence will
be entered into. The drawing of the prizes will be conducted at XCOM Media, 1/15 Lamington St, New Farm Qld
4005.
8. Winner Notification: The winners of the daily prizes will be notified by email by 2pm on the day after the prize
was posted on the Brisbane City Facebook page, or at 4pm on 21 December for the major prize. If no reply
email is received by 31 January 2013 the prize will be deemed void.
9. Brisbane Marketing will post the prize to the winner within one week of the winner providing their postal
address.
10. No Liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or
ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or
merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage
whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury
sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not
intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such
liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to alter or amend these terms and conditions and/or to cancel the
competition at any time prior to the competition opening without further recourse to the entrants.
12. Important – Privacy: By entering into this competition, the entrant consents to information (including
personal information) given by the entrant being stored on the Promoter’s database for use by the Promoter for
the purpose of internal statistical analysis relating to the Promoter’s competitions and to for inclusion in the
Promoter’s database.
13. Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to
infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other
causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any
action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter
reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits
from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
14. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents
or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters,
acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and
recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
15. The Promoter of the competition is Brisbane Marketing whose principal offices are at Level 8 Roy Harvey
House, 157 Ann Street, Brisbane.
