Join HIA or Renew On Time - Six Months Navara Use Competition
Method of Entry
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to Australia residents aged 18 or over only. Employees of Housing Industry Association Limited (“HIA”), Nissan Motor Co. (Australia) Pty. Ltd (“Nissan”) and their immediate families are ineligible.
3. The HIA Vehicles| Nissan Fleet – Six Months Navara Use Competition (“the Competition”) commences on 1 December 2012 at midnight AEST and will end on 31 May 2013 at midnight AEST (“the Competition Period”).
4. To enter, participants must renew their HIA membership no later than the date shown on their renewal notice, or become members of HIA during the Competition Period.
5. Members with an expiry date later than the 31st May 2013, may elect to pay their subscription in advance to be included in the draw.
Elegibility to Win Major Prize
6. Winner of the major prize must -
∙ hold a current Australian full driver’s license (no L or P platers).
∙ Not have had a drink driving or drug related conviction in the last ten (10) years.
∙ Not have had motor vehicle insurance cancelled or declined for any reason.
∙ Not have had had two or more “at fault” insurance claims in the last five (5) years as a result of driving their vehicle.
7. The HIA reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of their compliance with the above at the nominated prize delivery address, in order to be eligible to claim the prize. Acceptance of sufficiency of proof is at the absolute discretion of HIA.
8. In the event that a winner cannot provide proof to HIA’s satisfaction, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered. In such a case a prize redraw will be held as soon as practicable.
9. It is a condition of accepting and continuing to use the Major Prize that the winner must accept responsibility for the vehicle during the 6 months of use, and comply with all the conditions of use as set out from time to time by Nissan.
Prizes
10. The major prize consists of $1000 Fuel Voucher plus the use of a Nissan Navara ST for 6 months, including all insurance premiums and on road costs, but excluding petrol and oil and any fines incurred, valued at $8,420 RRP (“the Major Prize”).
11. In addition, $500 Fuel Vouchers will be given away each month (being 6 in total) for the duration of the competition (“the Fuel Prizes”). The total prize value of the Major Prize is $8420 and the Minor Prizes $3000. Total Prizes value is $11,420.(AUD)
12. No entries will be accepted for the Major Prize or Fuel Prizes after the Competition Period has ended.
13. All prizes will be drawn at the HIA, 79 Constitution Avenue Campbell ACT 2612. The winner will be notified by phone and email and details of the winner will be published on the hia.com website within 2 working days. The closing dates and times for the draw of the Prizes are as follows:
Draw 1: Entries for the First Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 6 January 2013. The First Fuel Prize will be drawn on 7 January 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Draw 2: Entries for the Second Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 3 February 2013. The Second Fuel Prize will be drawn on 4 February 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Draw 3: Entries for the Third Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 4 March 2013. The Third Fuel Prize will be drawn on 5 March 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Draw 4: Entries for the Fourth Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 4 April 2013. The Fourth Fuel Prize will be drawn on 5 April 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Draw 5: Entries for the Fifth Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 5 May 2013. The Fifth Fuel Prize will be drawn on 6 May 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Draw 6: Entries for the Sixth Fuel Prize will close at midnight AEST on 31 May 2013. The Sixth Fuel Prize will be drawn on 6 June 2013 at 12.00pm AEST.
Major Prize Draw: Entries for the Major Prize will close at midnight AEST on 31 May 2013. The Major Prize will be drawn on 14 June 2013 at 12.00pm AEST
14. Where the winner/s of the Prizes cannot be contacted within 90 days of the time and date of the draw, a redraw will be undertaken on the 16th September 2013 at the office of the HIA, 79 Constitution Avenue Campbell ACT 2612 at 2.00pm AEST. The winner will be notified by phone and email and details of the winner will be published on the hia.com website within 2 working days of the draw.
15. All prizes are as depicted or described in the promotion for the Competition and may be subject to change.
16. Prizes are not transferable or cannot be exchanged, or taken as cash.
17. HIA accepts no responsibility for any costs loss, damages, or injury incurred entering the competition or in connection with taking up any prize.
18. While the Major Prize includes comprehensive insurance coverage for 6 months, this is subject to Nissan’s Terms and Conditions; details available on hia.com.au.
19. At the conclusion of the 6 months use, the winner of the Major Prize will be liable to repay to HIA/Nissan the cost of any damage to the vehicle in excess of fair wear and tear. The Australian Fleet Lessors Association’s (AFLA) Fair Wear & Tear guide contains guidelines for damages and responsibility for the Major Prize, which is enforced by Nissan Motors Australia Ltd. The AFLA Fair Wear & Tear guide can be reviewed on the HIA website –
www.hia.com.au (PDF). HIA and Nissan Motors Australia Ltd accept no responsibility whatsoever for any costs incurred by the winner in adhering to the AFLA Fair Wear & Tear guide.

21. All prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (exclusive of GST). HIA accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
22. The Promoter takes no liability for any tax liabilities or obligations that may arise from winning a prize in this Competition. All entrants should consult with an independent Tax Advisor prior to entering into the Competition in order to establish their tax liability or obligations (if any).

24. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable or being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of either the HIA or Nissan, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law
a. to disqualify an entrant; or
b. subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
25. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, HIA and Nissan (including their officers, employees and agents) exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal or permanent injury or loss of life; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.
26. The Promoter will not be responsible for -
a. any technical difficulties or equipment, malfunction (whether or not under the HIA ’s or Nissan’s control);
b. any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
c. any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of either HIA or Nissan.
27. All details of the entrants will be used and preserved in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles and HIA ’s Privacy Policy. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the HIA.
28. Unless otherwise notified, the HIA may use the entries and details of entrants for promotional and publicity purposes. Entrants consent to their full names and/or their entries being used in all media by HIA .
