It's back! The Grill Teams Wife Carrying Championships for 2013 at Southbank this Australia Day! And this year along with the help from their good mates at the QLD Government and Samies Girl Seafood it's going to be bigger and better than ever.

The Grill Team are looking for 8 couples to compete (with 2 wild cards drawn on the day!) so if you think you've got what it takes, listen to the guys daily from 5.30am Jan 14 and they could be calling you back to take part in the Australia Day celebrations at Southbank Saturday January 26. The promoter is (jointly and severally where applicable) Southern Cross Austereo Pty Ltd (ABN 78 109 243 110) trading as:
4MMM of William Jolly Place, 309 North Quay, Brisbane QLD 4000 (the “Promoter”).

Registrations will open at 6.00am Monday 7th January 2013 and will close at 3pm Wednesday 23rd January 2013. (“Registration Period”).
The Promoter reserves the right to amend the Registration Period at its own discretion in accordance with state legislation.

Entry is available to permanent residents of:
- Queensland;
- Who are of good physical health for the purposes of taking part in
the Promotion;
- Must have a valid passport;
- Must be able to satisfy any requirements necessary for travel into
Finland (please see clause.25 of our extended terms and conditions).
Entrants must be aged 18 years and over.
Listeners will be encouraged to head to the listed website and register their details to be in the running to take part in The Grill Teams Wife Carrying Championships.

Alternative method of entry is to come along to the Grill Team event on Saturday 26th January 2013 where the promoter will draw two wild card entries from any couples that register their details between 2.00pm-2.45pm.
The most creative, unique, relevant and humorous answers will be given the opportunity to compete in the race.
All decisions are at the complete discretion of the Promoter and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
Two(2) couples will be drawn at the event on the day between 2.00pm- 2.45pm. This will be a random manual draw.
Should no couples register their details the activity will proceed as previously outlined.
There will be a maximum of ten (10) minor prizes.
Each prize will consist of one (1) each of the following:
- The opportunity for one (1) male and one (1) female to compete in The Grill Teams Wife Carrying Championships at Southbank Cultural Forecourt Brisbane January 26th 2013.
Entrants will be given a Triple M branded T-shirt to wear on the day.
There will be one (1) major prize.
Winners of The Grill Teams Wife Carrying Championships Final Race will be awarded a trip for two (2) people to Finland Thursday 4th July 2013 – Tuesday 9th July 2013:

Return private car transfer from Helsinki airport to hotel
4 nights’ accommodation at the Scandic Hotel Gran Marina

The length of the track is 200 meters, and the surface of the track is grass.
The track will have 4 dry obstacles approx 1 metre high and one water obstacle approx 30 centre metres deep.
The wife to be carried may be your own, the neighbour’s or a single will do; she must, however, be over 18 years of age.
The minimum weight of the wife to be carried is 49 kilos. If it is less than 49 kilos, the wife will be burdened with such a heavy rucksack that the total weight to be carried is 49 kilos. Weighing in at 49 kilos will be the responsibility of the entrant and the “wife” will be weighed by the promoter prior to the event.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entrants at their discretion and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
The only equipment allowed is a belt worn by the carrier.
Each contestant will be required to sign an indemnity form and any other necessary documentation provided to them at the discretion of the Promoter.
The contestants must adhere to the written and oral instructions given by the Promoter of the competition.
The contestants run the qualification in rounds of two (2) couples at a time and the two (2) couples with the quickest time trail will compete in the final.
The Promoter will be the jury of the Wife Carrying Competition. All decisions are at the discretion of the Promoter and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
Entrants must be available at Southbank Cultural Forecourt Brisbane from 2.00pm – 4.30pm Thursday 26th January 2012. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entrants at their complete discretion and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
By entering this agreement, the entrant confirms and acknowledges that any material submitted and created throughout the Promotional Period is the property of the Promoter and may be used in their discretion for the purposes of marketing and publicity without any fee being owed to the entrants or any other individual.
The Promoter reserves the right to terminate this Promotion in its entirety at its discretion with no consolation prize owing to the entrants.
Contestants must at all times abide by the rules of the game and may not engage in any behaviour which puts themselves or others at risk. The Promoter reserves the right to remove a Contestant from the race or suspend the race at any point at its sole discretion.
Contestants will be provided with protective accessories. Contestants are responsible for any other additional protective accessories as they may deem necessary.
All contestants must have no prior health conditions and must be of suitable physical health to take part in the activity. The Promoter is in no way responsible for any injuries sustained throughout the activity or subsequent to the activity.
All Contestants take part in the activity at their own risk and are responsible for arranging their own insurances for the purposes of taking part in the activity.
All decisions are at the discretion of the Promoter and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
The Prize Winner and their travel companion must have a current passport valid for a period of six (6) months past their expected stay at the destination. It is the responsibility of the Prize Winner and their accompanying guest to verify the status of their passport should they have any doubts.
The Promoter takes no responsibility should the Prize Winner and/or their
travel companion be denied a Travel Authorisation; and must forfeit their prize as a result. Noting a criminal record may affect this.
It is the responsibility of the Prize Winner and their travelling companion to obtain the necessary travel insurance coverage, and to cover any associated costs themselves
Prize Winner and their travelling companion must be available to travel on the dates specified by the Promoter. If the Prize Winner and/or their travel companion is unavailable to travel on the specified dates, at the Promoter’s discretion the Prize Winner may forfeit their Prize and the Promoter may award the Prize to another Entrant in their place.
Flights and hotel are subject to change at the Promoter’s discretion.
Prize does not include anything other than what is listed in Item 11: Prize Details. Any additional costs, including but not limited to room service, internet use, phone use and mini bar, will need to be covered by the Prize Winner and/or their travel companion.
It is the Prize Winner’s and travel companion’s own responsibility to ensure they notify the Promoter, the airline, hotel and any other establishments associated with the Promotion and/or the Prize of any allergies they have.
Should the Prize Winner and/or their travel companion be refused entry into the for any reason, the Promoter does not take any responsibility and the person/s who was refused entry will not be compensated by the Promoter in any way.
Should any elements of the prize be changed, moved, cancelled or not available for any unforseen reason, the Promoter takes no responsibility and the Prize Winners and their travel companions will not be compensated.
All Prize Winners and travel companions will be required to carry valid photo identification with them at all times.
If any flights or transfers are missed it is the winners and their guest’s responsibility to pay for any replacement travel.
It is the winner's responsibility to organise transport to/from the airport departure/return point.
Visas, valid passports, additional spending money, meals (other than those included) and any other ancillary costs, including but not limited to insurance and any applicable insurance excesses, not listed in the travel prize package descriptions above are the responsibility of the travel prize winner and his/her nominated travelling companions as incurred.
