Closing Date: 25 Feb 2013
Celebrate Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2013 with the chance to win a copy of global wine star Jancis Robinson’s latest book, Wine Grapes (RRP $199).
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival presented by Bank of Melbourne (1-17 March 2013) will gather iconic Australian wines in the company of international benchmarks for tasting and discussion at Acqua Panna Global Wine Experience (APGWE) 9-10 March 2013.
APGWE presents an unparalleled wine experience over four separate seated tastings: a never-to-be-repeated selection of Champagne, sparkling and pinot noir will be presented during the To Champagne… and Beyond! and Whose Pinot Reigns Supreme? tastings, while Jancis Robinson OBE MW will join the tasting panel alongside Australian wine greats to present wines she has personally selected for the Great Wines of the World: an Exploration and Wines of Wonderland sessions.
The Wines of Wonderland tasting will explore 12 of the world’s most weird and wonderful grape varieties and is inspired by her new book Wine Grapes, written with co-authors Julia Harding and Jose Vouillamoz. It’s not surprising that it takes more than 1,200 pages and 3 kilos of paper to detail the family trees, international plantings, flavour profiles and more of each and every one of the 1,368 wine varieties used in commercial wine production globally.
