Many instrumental bands struggle when adding vocals to the mix, but PVT transitioned smoothly. Now they've evolved again, with their fothcoming album Homosapien being a dark-synth progression from their previous LP.
Sounding like Radiohead's "Kid A", Gary Numan, or labelmates Jamie Lidell, Homosapien is 11 tracks of stuttering, shimmering, decaying dance music. Have a look at their latest video for an idea, its visuals are an excellent accompaniment to the album's overall sound.
To mark the album launch on February 8, PVT have put together a beer with Young Henry's (who you might remember from Smith Farmhouse Ale). It's an Anglo-Weisse beer that combines the elements of a traditional english bitter and german wheat beer. In March the band will also tour Australia, full dates and ticket details here.
The album is currently available for pre-order from iTunes, and thanks to Secret Service we have three copies of Homosapien to give away. Send your name and address here to enter. Email to: giveaways@smithjournal.com.au
