Movin’ Melvin Brown tells the story in song and dance of how Ray Charles, on his journey towards greatness, found himself trying different styles and kinds of music of the stars of the day like Nat King Cole, Percy Mayfield, Roy Hamilton and others who helped him to realize the style that fit Ray Charles into so many music categories.
Swing, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock’n’Roll, Pop… Featuring songs of Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, the Beatles and of many other great artists, done as only the greatest soul voice of all times could do, bringing them to The Ray Charles Experience!

Described as “an inspired optimist in possession of a seriously contagious laugh”, Movin’ Melvin Brown has mountains of energy and style.
Melvin Brown, from the United States (Austin, TX), was a feature artist at Oprah Winfrey’s birthday party for Maya Angelou, opened for Harry Connick Jr. on his Australian tour of 1997 and has appeared alongside Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson and James Brown.
During previous visits to Australia he performed on ABC TV’s Club Buggery, Channel 9’s Today Show and In Melbourne Tonight, Channel 10’s Good Morning Australia and Rove Live, Channel 7’s Today Tonight, to New Zealand TVNZ Channel One’s “Good Morning”, etc.
Multi-awarded entertainer, Movin’ Melvin Brown was recognized as « Best Blues Artist » by LA American Radios, « Best International Artist» in Brighton, as well as nominee «Star of the Festival». Audience’s choice Award for « Best show » in Vancouver, «Most outstanding Performer » in New York, etc…
