Arthur Daly (GEORGE COLE), a name synonymous with dodgy goods, shaky deals and a man who knows a 'good little earner' when he sees one, hires Terry McCann to be his 'Minder' to protect him from other small time crooks as they duck and dive through the criminal underworld of London, pursuing the latest get-rich-quick scheme.

When Terry unexpectedly leaves for Australia, Arthur is forced to employ Ray Daley (GARY WEBSTER), his nephew. With his eye for the girls and a certain naivety when it comes to working on the fringes of villainy, Ray may not be the ideal candidate for the job but even for Arthur blood is thicker than water.
