We're about to make a big call: Allen Stone has one of the best voices we have heard in some time, and we are more or less flabbergasted we hadn't heard it till recently. If we could fornicate with a voice, we reckon this one would do us just fine.
These soul-possessed vocal chords first drifted past our ears when someone sent us the below video of him playing a live set in his mum's living room. Yes, he may look like a cross between Napoleon Dynamite and a bi-focal-wearing Texan ranger, but close your eyes and Allen's voice sounds like it is straight out a jazz club in the 1940s.
He's coming out to Australia for the first time this month for Bluesfest and we have a double pass for his Melbourne sideshow on March 28th and his Sydney gig on March 30th to give away.
