Win a copy of Margo Moran's new book Imagination Running Wild

Closing date
13 April 2013

To win a copy of Margo Moran's new book Imagination Running Wild all you have to do is fill in your details below.

Margo is trucking living legend, John 'The Ferret' Moran's wife and her published hubby pushed her along the way to write her first book.

WHAT inspires an 84-year-old woman to start writing a romantic novel?

Margo Moran said she had always wanted to write a book – ever since she left school while growing up in Perth.

The closest she came then was when she took a job as a book binder, but that lasted only six months.

Her grandfather had a banana plantation, and when he broke his leg, help was needed at the farm.

So Margo helped out at the plantation until she met her first husband.

She left to get married and then was busy with four children and, moving State to State, she found no time to write.

Now she is retired with her current husband John "The Ferret" Moran, and the book came simply because she had the time.

Margo took a book-writing course and started writing little stories, but it took a push from her published husband to compile them into a book.

"It’s a little bit late, but better late than never!" Margo said her inspiration came from reading other books and thinking that she could do it.

"I don’t know what possessed me to keep going. Since I met John with his writing and poetry and everything he conveys, he has pushed me along a bit."

"He’s written two books and I thought, ‘Why can’t I?’"

After reading the book, her grandson asked where she learnt about the things she wrote about.

"I wasn’t always old," she told him! "It was just my own imagination," she said.

It was not that hard to self-publish, she told Big Rigs.

And the book is not like 50 Shades of Grey – not that she has read it – but that’s what her friends tell her.

"I tried to make it nice and delicate."

Imagination Running Wild costs $30 and is mostly selling by word of mouth. But if you want a copy, you can email margo29@optusnet.com.au or phone 3888 3802.
Go for it, give it a tweet!
