Chameleons of the White Shadow  - A Review by Gloria Marr

This brand new release is from Joseph Tawadros,  one of Australia’s most prolific and internationally regarded musicians. He has lived here in Australia since 1986 and is regarded as one  of the ,worlds greatest masters of the OUD [ a Fretless Arabian Flute] and is a  respected exponent of the Egyptian and Arabic music of today. He also plays several other Arabic traditional instruments.

This new album follows on from the award winning album “Concerto of the Greater Sea’ with the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

With  nine prior  ARIA nominations to his name, Joseph won Best Music Album in 2012 for’ Concerto of the Greater Sea’.

All of the music on this new CD is composed by Joseph Tawadros  with the exception of track 12 which is from James Tawadros, his brother.

The four other members of the group [plus three guest artists] play a variety of instruments and they are  widely regarded as the worlds best in their field.

The music has a very Eastern sound to it, quite different in style, but really enjoyable.

 With 14  tracks,  it runs for 70.53 mins and is released by the ABC.
