SBS Haute Cuisine Competition
METHOD OF ENTRY
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 and over only. Employees of SBS, Air France, Atout France, Transmission Films and Tefal, their associated companies and immediate families are ineligible.
3. The competition period starts on Thursday, 11 April, 2013 (AEST) and ends on Sunday, 28 April, 2013 at 11:59pm (AEST) (the “Competition Period”).

www.sbs.com.au/food and follow the directions on the website. Participants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address and phone number and submit their entry by clicking on the “Enter Competition” button. Entries are limited to one entry per person.
5. SBS reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of Australian residency status at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity, in order to claim a prize. Acceptance of proof of identification, Australian residency status and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of SBS. In the event that a winner cannot provide proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
6. Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
MAJOR PRIZE
7. The Major Prize winner will receive the following:
Travel:
• Return Economy Class Adult Tickets via Air France and its partner services.
• Airfares forming part of the prize won may be used for travel in any season, but travel is subject to availability. It is recommended that the prize winner booking his or her travel dates as early as possible to ensure availability and, in any event, it is recommended that the prize winner book his or her travel dates at least 21 working days before the intended date of departure.
• Flight will depart from any major capital city in Australia: Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth only
• Airline blackout periods:
Wednesday 18 December 2013 until Wednesday 1 January 2014;
Sunday 13 April until Sunday 27 April 2014.
• The two tickets must be issued before 31 December 2013, but travel is permitted until 26 April 2014
Air travel valued at up to AUD$5,500 (GST included)
Accommodation:
• Five nights’ accommodation at the The Hotel du Nord et de L’est. 49, rue de Malte, 75011 Paris, France (3 star Hotel)
• Twin share accommodation (subject to availability)
• Continental breakfast is included.
• The accommodation is valid for 12 months from the date of the competition draw, Monday, 29 April, 2013
• Blackout period:
Wednesday 18 December 2013 until Wednesday 1 January 2014;
Sunday 13 April until Sunday 27 April 2014.
Accommodation is valued at up to AUD$1094.50 (GST included)

RUNNER-UP PRIZES
8. Ten Runner-Up prize winners will receive the following:
One Tefal French Heritage Crepe Pan valued at up to AUD$131.95 (GST included) RRP

Total Prize Pool valued at up to AUD$7914.00 (GST included)
9. All valid entries are automatically entered into the Major Prize draw. The Major Prize winner and the Runner-up winners will be drawn at random by SBS on Monday, 29 April, 2013 at 10:00am (AEST) at SBS Corporation, 14 Herbert Street, Artarmon, NSW. The Major Prize winner will be notified by email and phone. The name of the Major Prize winner will be published on the SBS Food website and in The Australian on Friday, 3 May, 2013. The Runner-up winners will be contacted by email and published on the SBS Food website. If the Major prize winner or any of the 10 Runner-up winners cannot be contacted by Monday, 5 August, 2013 at 2:00pm (AEST), SBS will conduct a redraw at SBS, 14 Herbert St, Artarmon NSW, 2064 on Monday, 5 August, 2013 at 2:30pm (AEST). Winners will be notified by phone and email. The name of the Major Prize winner will be published on the SBS Food website

10. All prizes are as depicted or described in the promotions for the competition and are not subject to change.
11. If an entrant opts-in to any of the SBS e-newsletters, they will automatically receive the SBS e-newsletter(s).
12. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
13. SBS accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the competition or in connection with taking up the prizes.
14. Once prizes have left the prize supplier’s premises, we take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
TRAVEL
15. The travel ticket must be issued before 31 December 2013 but travel is permitted until 26 April 2014 and if it has not been redeemed within this time period, tickets shall be deemed null and void.
16. The Major Prize winner and their travel companion will not accrue any frequent flyer points.
17. The Major Prize must be booked through Air France. Bookings are subject to availability and are not re-routable, not transferable, not cash-redeemable, non-upgradeable and the validity cannot be extended. The Major Prize winner must be one of the travellers. Once booked and approved by the prize supplier, any changes may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee at the cost of the winner. Once tickets have been issued they cannot be changed.
18. Neither SBS nor the prize suppliers or their associated companies will be held liable for any loss, damage or injury of the results directly or indirectly from the winner taking part in any aspect of the prize. Where relevant, the winner agrees that they take full responsibility for any activities engaged in while travelling and engaging in the prize package and will take out appropriate travel insurance.
19. Prize winners are responsible for all costs not expressly listed as being included in the prize, including without limitation, meals, entertainment, other travel and accommodation, transfers, passports, visas, re-entry permits, spending money, freights, excess baggage, government taxes, departure taxes, ground transportation any tax liabilities, airport charges, any applicable surcharges and any other related costs. Travel insurance is not included in the prize and will be the responsibility of the winner(s). Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
20. Travel arrangements to and from the nearest capital city airport do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner.
21. The prize winner and their travelling companion must travel on the date, on the same flight as each other to their destination and return.
22. It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.
23. Neither SBS nor the prize suppliers or their associated companies are responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for acts of God, acts of terrorism or war (declared or undeclared) or other events beyond SBS and the prize suppliers’ control which prevent awarding or acceptance of the prize in accordance with the prize description.
Accommodation
24. The accommodation element of the prize can be transferred to a person 18 years or over at the absolute discretion of the Promoter. However, it cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. If for any reason, the Major Prize winner cannot use the accommodation component of the prize, and he/she does not wish to transfer the Prize, then the accommodation will be forfeited.
25. Taxes: If a Prize or receipt of it incurs a tax liability, the Prize Winner is liable for payment of such tax.
26. Accommodation is subject to availability, based on a limited allocation of rooms, and may not be available during school holidays, holiday weekends or special events. In the event the accommodation is unavailable for any reason, subject to State legislation, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the accommodation with another prize of equal value and the Major Prize winner will be notified accordingly.
27. The accommodation is available for 12 months from the date of the draw, excluding special event periods and public holidays including New Year’s Eve, Christmas,
FINAL CONDITIONS
28. SBS’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
29. SBS takes no liability for any tax issues which may arise from accepting a prize in this competition. Consult an independent tax adviser if this is a concern.
30. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, SBS (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal or permanent injury or loss of life; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
31. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). SBS accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
32. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
33. SBS and the prize suppliers assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of SBS which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, SBS reserves the right in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. 34. All entries become and remain the property of SBS. SBS may use entrants' names and addresses for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.
35. All details of the entrants will be used and preserved in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles and SBS Privacy Policy. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the SBS Privacy Contact Officer. Unless otherwise notified, SBS may use the entries and details of entrants for promotional and publicity purposes.
