Terms and Conditions
1.Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions of entry.
2.The promoter is Leader Associated Newspapers Pty Ltd, 1-7 Chapel St, Blackburn, Vic, 3130. ABN: 34 004 337 446.
3.The promotion is known as the “Leader and Malaysia Kitchen” promotion.
4.Entry is available to Victorian residents 18 years or over at date of entry who reside within the Leader Newspapers distribution area – refer to the end of these Terms and Conditions for Leader Distribution Area suburbs list. Employees of the Promoter or its associated companies, employees of any agencies, affiliates, sponsors, sub-sponsors or representatives of the Promoter and the immediate families of any such employees are not eligible to enter.
5.One entry permitted per person. Leader Community Newspapers reserves the right to invalidate all multiple entries submitted by one person.
6.Promotion commences at 12.00am AEST on Monday, April 29, 2013 and closes at 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 (“promotion period”).
7.This promotion will be featured in all Leader Newspapers and Leader Online during the promotion period.
8.Consumers can enter via the internet at
www.leadernews.com.au and complete the online entry form. Online entry form will require full name, address, daytime contact phone number and email address details.
9.The promotion is a game of chance. All valid entries will form part of a random draw. The first valid entry drawn will win a trip for two to Malaysia. The draw will take place at 10.00am AEST on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the head office of Leader Newspapers at 1 Chapel Street, Blackburn, Victoria.
10.The prize is consists of a trip for the winner and one guest to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is valid until November 6, 2013 (six months from draw date). It is valued at RRP A$2793 (estimated prize value at time of print) and includes:
•Return economy airfares for two from Melbourne, Victoria, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (A$1800)
•Airport transfers (return) in Kuala Lumpur (A$300)
•Four nights’ accommodation in a Deluxe Room and breakfast daily at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur (A$592)
•An ‘Off the eaten track’ tour with Food Tour Malaysia (A$101)
11.Flights, accommodation and tour bookings are all subject to availability and block out periods may apply. The accommodation must be taken in consecutive nights’ stay and the hotel voucher must be presented upon check-in or placing the order. The hotel voucher is only redeemable against the offer described above and no cash refund will be made if the full amount is not utilised. Accommodation reservations must be made at least 72 hours prior to arrival.
12.The Winner and their travelling companion are responsible for all expenses other than that specified, including but not limited to spending money, transfers, extra meals, drinks, incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, insurance, energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, travel insurance, excess baggage and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is the responsibility of the Winner and their travelling companion. The Promoter is not liable for any costs incurred if the Winner or their travelling companions travel without insurance. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the Winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges.
13.Obtaining all travel documents such as passports, visas etc that are required for travel to destinations forming part of the Prize is the responsibility of the Winner and their travelling companion.
14.Prize is valid until November 9, 2013 (six months from draw date), no exceptions. Transfers are available at set times from set locations. Date change and cancellation fees may apply.
15.The Prize is not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash.
16.The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process. The Promoter reserves the right to require the Winner and his or her friend to provide proof of age, identity and residency prior to awarding a prize. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoters.
17.The Promoter is not responsible for any technical malfunctions or problems with internet or network congestion, including injury or damage to the participant’s or any other person’s computer which may affect participation in this promotion or transmission of entries over the internet.
18.The Promoter does not accept responsibility for late, lost, misdirected entries or entries sent but not received by Leader. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter.
19.The Winner will be advised by telephone and the prize will be will be distributed by registered mail within seven days of the draw and the winner’s first name and suburb will be published in Leader Newspapers on W/c May 13, 2013, and will appear on the Leader Newspapers website for a minimum period of 28 days.
20.An unclaimed prize draw will take place if required on Monday, June 10, 2013 (approximately one after the first draw) at 10.00am AEST at Leader Newspaper’s head office at 1 Chapel Street, Blackburn, and the winner will be notified within seven days of the draw in writing and by telephone. The winner’s details will be published for a minimum period of 28 days on the Leader Newspapers website and in Leader Newspapers W/c June 17, 2013.
21.To the full extent permitted by the law, the Promoters exclude liability for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered or sustained (including, but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion.
22.In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right (subject to all relevant state and territory regulations) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
