CHANNEL [V] “BEYONCE” COMPETITION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ENTRY INTO THE COMPETITION
1. Entry into the Channel [V] “BEYONCE” competition (the “Competition”) is open to all residents of
Australia over the age of 15 who meet the travel requirements (see „Travel‟ section for more details).
The Promoter is FOXTEL Management Pty Ltd (ABN: 65 068 671 938) 5 Thomas Holt Drive, North
Ryde, NSW 2113 (the “Promoter”). Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. It is
a condition of entry that all entrants under the age of 21 must have their parent or legal
guardian’s express permission to enter this Competition in accordance with these Terms and
Conditions. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. The officers, management and employees (or immediate family of an officer, manager or employee)
of the Promoter, the agencies associated with this Competition, FOXTEL, TELSTRA, Optus TV and
their related bodies corporate are not eligible to enter.
3. Competition begins at 09:00am (AEDT) on Monday 6 May 2013 and closes at 23.59pm (AEDT) on
Monday 10 June 2013 (the “Competition Period”).
4. To enter the Competition and be eligible to win, entrants must:
(a) Go to the Channel [V] website located at www.vmusic.com.au;
(b) Click on the “Win” tab and the “Beyonce Competition” link
(c) Fill out all of the required data entry fields on the entry form;
(d) Select which Beyonce video is your favourite from the list and;
(e) In 25 words or less answer the following question, “Why is this your favourite video?” (the
“Competition Question”).
5. All entries must include all mandatory information as indicated on the form, which includes (not limited
to the entrant‟s name, address, postcode, daytime phone number (including area code), mobile
phone number (if applicable), email address and date of birth. All entries must be original and must
not incorporate material which has been previously published. Incomplete entries or those which, in
the opinion of the Promoter, infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, contain any
objectionable content, profanity or is potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory will be ineligible
to win the Prize.
6. It is each entrant‟s responsibility to inform the Promoter if his/her residential address, email address
or phone number changes during the Competition Period.
7. Only one entry per person per day is permitted during the Competition Period. Each entry by the
same entrant must be unique and original. The use of any automated software or any other
mechanical or electronic means that permits the participant automatically to enter repeatedly is
prohibited (“Repeat Entry Device”). If the Promoter reasonably believes that an entrant is using any
Repeat Entry Device, the Promoter may disqualify that entrant without notice.
8. Entry via the Facebook Page is free. However, any costs associated with accessing the Facebook
Page are the responsibility of the person seeking access and is dependent on the internet service
provider used.
PRIZE
9. The Prize is valued at a maximum of $18,500.00 and consists of the following;
I. Two (2) x return economy flights from the capital city in Australia nearest to the winner‟s place
of residence to Los Angeles, USA, valued at a maximum of $12,000.00 (inc GST);
ONLINE SKILL
II. Two (2) x VIP, front of stage tickets to see Beyonce in concert on Monday 1 July 2013 at
7:30 PM at the Staples Center, Los Angeles CA (the “Concert”), valued at a maximum of
$500.00;
III. Five (5) x nights twin share accommodation for the winner and one (1) guest at a minimum 3
star hotel (to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion) in Los Angeles, CA
(from Sunday 30 June, 2013 and checking out Friday 5 July 2013)(the “Hotel”), valued at max
of $800.00 (inc GST);
IV. Private return transfers for the winner and their guest in Los Angeles between the airport and
the Hotel and between the Hotel and the Concert, valued at a max of $500.00;
V. Two (2) x tickets to the Concert afterparty on Monday 1 July (the “Afterparty”); valued at a
maximum of $1000.00 (inc GST); and
VI. The Prize winner and their guest also have access to a 24 hour assistance-line while in the
USA; valued at a maximum of $2500.00 (inc GST).
10. The total maximum Prize pool value is up to $18,500.00. The Prize values are the recommended
retail values as provided by the suppliers and are correct at the time of printing. The Promoter is
neither responsible nor liable for any change in the value of the Prize occurring between publishing
date and date the Prize is claimed. All Prize values are in Australian dollars.
11. Beyonce is scheduled to attend the Afterparty at time of printing. However, Beyonce‟s attendance at
the Afterparty is at her absolute discretion. The Promoter and the Supplier accept no responsibility for
any failure by Beyonce to attend.
12. The Promoter’s agent, iMAR will manage all aspects of prize fulfilment and winner liaison on behalf of the
Promoter. The Prize must be taken together as a package, to coincide witht he Concert and the dates
set out in clause 9. If the winner fails to take the Prize at a time stipulated by the Promoter they will
forfeit the Prize in whole and no substitute or compensation will be offered.
13. All ancillary costs and expenses incurred in taking and using the Prize are the sole responsibility of
the Prize winners and their guest.
14. Entrants are advised that the Prize may be subject to prevailing terms and conditions of the venues,
prize suppliers and/or event organisers. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize winners
and guest comply with all such terms and conditions and it is the Prize winners‟ responsibility to first
check the tickets and with the venues and/or event organisers regarding any such applicable terms
and conditions before use. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any cancellations,
postponements of the concert and will not offer a substitute prize under any circumstances.
15. The Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. The Prize (or any element of the Prize) cannot
be exchanged for any other prize or cash. The contents of the Prize will be at the Promoter‟s sole
discretion.
16. The Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from them winning the Prize and they
should seek independent financial advice prior to accepting the Prize.
17. The Promoter encourages the winner and their guest to enjoy alcohol responsibly. Legal aged
consumers of alcohol are advised to consider the safe drinking levels recommended in the National
Health and Medical Research Council Australian Alcohol Guidelines. A full version of the Guidelines

JUDGING AND AWARD OF PRIZE
ONLINE SKILL
18. Eligible Competition entries will be judged on the basis of originality and creativity and 1 winner will be
selected by Channel [V] HITS, Level 1, 5 Thomas Holt Drive, North Ryde, NSW 2113 on Tuesday 11
June 2013 at 10.00am (AEST). Chance plays no part in the selection of the winner. The winner will
be notified via email or phone on Wednesday 12 June 2013 and their name published on the official
Channel [V] HITS Facebook page and on the Channel [V] website www.vmusic.com.au from
Thursday 13 June 2013. The Prize must be claimed within 14 days of the publication of the Prize
winner‟s name to enable travel and visa arrangements.
19. If the Prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize by the stipulated date, the Prize
will be forfeited in full and a substitute prize will not be offered in lieu of the Prize.
20. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize winner and his/her guest may be required to sign
a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
21. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow the Prize winner or his or her guest to take part in
any or all aspects of the Prize, if the Promoter determines, in its absolute discretion, that a Prize
winner or his or her guest are not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able safely to
participate in the Prize.
AGE
22. If the Prize winner is under the age of 21, the parent or a legal guardian (over the age of 25) must
accompany the Prize winner at all times throughout the conduct of the Prize. The parent or legal
guardian will be considered as the guest/travelling companion of the Prize winner (ie the Prize winner
will only be able to bring his/her parent or legal guardian as their guest).
TRAVEL
23. The Prize winner and guest are responsible for ensuring that they are able to travel to the United
States. As a condition of entry to the promotion, the Prize winner and or his/her guest must not be
subject to any restrictions on their rights to travel to and from the US. Entrants must have a valid
passport with more than six months until expiry from the first date of travel to be eligible for the Prize.
The Prize winner and guest are required to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation
and/or comply with other entry US visa and immigration requirements. It is the responsibility of the
Prize winner and his/her guest to check and comply with all applicable requirements. If the Prize
winner or their guest is refused entry to the USA or departure from Australia, they will forfeit the Prize
in whole and no substitute or compensation will be offered. The Prize winner is advised to check with
the relevant government websites (including www.dfat.gov.au) for the most current information.
24. The Prize winner and guest must travel at the same time and depart from the same capital city and
are responsible for transport from their respective residence to the airport at their nearest capital city
for the flights (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth). If the winner is from Tasmania, ACT
or NT connecting flights from these cities to the nearest flight departure capital city will be included in
the prize package for the Prize winner and guest.
25. It is a condition of entry that the Prize winner and his/her guest must be ready and available to travel
to and stay at the locations on the dates specified by the Promoter in clause 7 to coincide with the
event(s).
26. It is the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and guest to ensure that their personal travel
documentation is valid and to check with all government travel advisory and immigration authorities
regarding travel requirements and eligibility. Any fines, penalties, payments and expenditure incurred
as a result of not meeting such requirements are the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and
his/her guest. Travel insurance is advisable for the Prize winner and guest to protect against the
additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances, however, such arrangements are
the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and his/her guest.
ONLINE SKILL
27. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any cancellations, delays, postponements or any other
changes to the flights or other transport arrangements that are part of the Prize and any costs
incurred as a result (including, without limitation, any ancillary accommodation costs) and will not offer
a substitute prize under any circumstances.
28. The Prize winner and his/her guest are responsible for all ancillary arrangements, expenses and
costs incurred in taking and using the Prize, unless specifically stated as included as a part of the
Prize, including but not limited to transfers, spending money, taxes (excluding departure and any
other flight associated taxes included within the prize), visas, passports, travel insurance, meals and
drinks, incidental charges at the hotel are the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and his/her guest.
29. Airfare tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline. Flight itinerary may
have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule.
Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.
30. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the Prize winner or their guest at check in
to the Hotel for any incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are nonchangeable.
31. The Prize winner is advised that tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the Prize and they
should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize.
32. The Promoter and the associated agencies, make no representation as to the safety, conditions or
other issues that may exist at any destination. It is the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and
guest to first check with all government travel advisory information regarding the safety and situation
of the destination of their chosen destination/event.
33. The Prize winner and his/her guest are advised to consult their healthcare professional regarding
recommended immunisations and/or health checks prior to travelling and to check for travel warnings
and any perceived hazards with appropriate authorities.
GENERAL
34. Entrants release Facebook and its associated companies from all liability arising in respect of the
Competition and acknowledge that:
(a) the Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with,
Facebook;
(b) any information provided by the entrant in connection with the Competition is provided to the
Promoter and not to Facebook; and
(c) any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Competition will be directed to the
Promoter, not to Facebook.
35. Any costs of using and accessing Facebook via a mobile phone, tablet or other devices will be
dependent on the entrant‟s individual mobile and internet service provider. The Promoter is not
responsible for any costs associated with any mobile, telephony, internet, or Facebook access and
usage. The Promoter is not responsible for any other costs associated or incurred as a result of the
entrant‟s entry into the Competition.
36. Entry and continued participation in the Promotion is dependent on entrants following and acting in
accordance with the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be viewed at
http://www.facebook.com/terms.php
37. All entrants agree to provide the Promoter or the Promoter‟s authorised agent with proof of identity,
residency, age and/or proof of entry validity if selected as the Prize winner or if reasonably requested
by the Promoter or the Promoter‟s authorised agent. Proof of age, identification, residency and entry
considered suitable for verification is at the sole discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a Prize

winner cannot provide suitable proof, that Prize winner will forfeit the Prize in whole and no substitute
will be offered.
38. By entering the Competition, each entrant warrants that their entry is their own original work, and that
they own all rights (including copyright) in their entry. Each entrant indemnifies the Promoter for any
costs or loss incurred by the Promoter as a result of this warranty being false or incorrect.
39. No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter, Channel [V]. FOXTEL, Telstra or Optus TV for any
changes in dates, times or cancellations or other arrangements that may prevent the Prize winners
from winning the Prizes or using the Prizes.
40. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify at any time:
a) any entry (including those judged as a winning entry) which, in the opinion of the
Promoter, includes any objectionable content, profanity or is potentially insulting,
inflammatory or defamatory; or
b) any individual who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry (including those
judged as a winning entry) that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or
who has in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in unlawful or improper conduct that is
designed to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition or is generally
damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promoter.
41. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to at any time, cancel or vary the
Competition or to cancel or vary the award of the Prize including, without limitation, circumstances
where in the Promoter‟s opinion (which it shall form in its absolute discretion):
a) a Prize winner does not satisfy the Competition entry requirements; or
b) the Promoter cannot conduct the Competition or award the Prize/s for any reason beyond
its control.
42. In the event that the Promoter cancels or varies the Competition or varies or withdraws the Prize it
shall not:
a) be liable to any person for any loss or damage (including loss or damage caused by any
negligence) arising out of, or in connection with, such cancellation, variation or
withdrawal; or
b) be required to conduct the Competition at any other time.
43. No responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for late, lost or misdirected entries and all entries
are deemed to be received at the time of receipt of the entry into the Promoter‟s database and NOT
time of transmission by the entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for outdated or incorrect
contact details or contact details by which the entrant cannot be contacted during business hours on
the relevant dates.
44. A decision of the Promoter in relation to the conduct of the Competition is binding and conclusive and
no correspondence will be entered into.
45. Entrants enter the Competition at their sole risk. With the exception of liability which cannot be
excluded by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for (and the Prize winner and guest agree to release
the Promoter from liabilities relating to) any loss or damage which is suffered (including but not limited
to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury or sickness suffered or sustained including any
due to the Promoter‟s negligence) as a result of accepting or using the Prize or entering the
Competition.
46. The Promoter collects entrants‟ personal information (as that term is defined in the Privacy Act 1988
(Cth)) for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition (including, but not limited to,
determining and notifying winners). Entrants are advised that their personal information may be
disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and their names as the winner may be published

as required under the relevant lottery legislation. Entrants are also advised that from time to time, the
Promoter may disclose your personal information to third parties (including, but not limited to, third
party prize providers) for the purpose of administering prize or for other purposes contemplated in
these Terms and Conditions.
47. By entering the Competition, all entrants agree that their name, image, biography and entries
(including, but not limited to, any written answers, photographs/images and audio-visual recordings)
may be reproduced, published, communicated, broadcast or shown to the public by the Promoter in
any media for its promotional purposes, without compensation to the entrants, subject to the
Promoter‟s privacy policy which is available at www.vmusic.com.au; for this purpose, each entrant
grants to the Promoter a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, transferable and royaltyfree
licence in any such written answers, photographs /images and audio-visual recordings. Each
entrant consents to any act or omission by the Promoter which may infringe any of the entrant‟s moral
rights (within the meaning of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)), including: i) failing to attribute (or correctly
attribute) the entrant‟s authorship of the entry; or ii) making any modification, variation or amendment
of any nature to the entry, whether or not it results in a material distortion or derogatory treatment of
the entry.
