I adored Indiana Jones when I was a kid. The treasure hunting, the exploring and the adventure. It was exciting to think there were worlds to explore hidden away in over grown jungles and buried under the earth.

If your kids love Indiana and adventure type movies, then one of the latest animated movies, Tad the Lost Explorer, could be the perfect afternoon entertainment for them, especially with school holidays only around the corner!


“Tadeo Jones (Tad) has always wanted to become an adventurous and famous archeologist but instead he spends his days daydreaming between the cranes and cement on the building site where he works.

The chance to fulfill his dreams comes along when his friend, a celebrated archeologist, receives a mysterious stone tablet: the key to the route to the Lost City of Paititi and its legendary treasure. However, the archeologist is not the only person seeking the treasure. Just as he is about to start out on his journey, the archeologist suffers an unfortunate accident and Tad sees his opportunity to be the archeologist he has always wanted to be and heads on the expedition to Peru. With the help of Jeff, his faithful dog, an intrepid teacher, a parrot and a hustler, they will try to save the mythical Lost City of the Incas from an evil band of treasure hunters”

The kids enjoyed the movie, especially the action scenes when they were trying to get to the treasure. The storyline moves along quickly enough so it is also entertaining for an adult to sit and watch too. The animation is good and the music accompanying the movie was also enjoyable. If any one is a fan of Once Direction they will be happy to hear them feature.

It is rated PG and is a full length movie with it running for 89 minutes, so there were a few wiggles from the kids but it is perfect for those rainy day afternoons.

Tad the Lost Explorer is available on 3D Blu-ray combo, DVD and digital download from May 29th at all good in store and online DVD retailers.
