Terms and Conditions:

 1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the competition conditions. 2. Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these competition conditions. 3. Prizes: There is one main prize of an iPad Mini valued at $619 The prize is not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Any additional expenses incurred by the prize winner, other than those outlined in these competition conditions, are the responsibility of the prize winner. The prize must be redeemed by the prizewinner unless the prizewinner is under 18 years of age, in which case the prizewinne’rs parent or guardian is required to redeem the prize on the prizewinner’s’behalf. 4. The competition period: The voting period opens at 9am on 7 June, 2013, and ends at 5pm on 14 July, 2013. The winner announcement will be at 1pm, 15 July, 2013. 5. How to enter: Entrants must ‘like’ Brisbane Libraries Facebook page before voting. Entrants must then vote for their favourite piece of technology currently available at Brisbane City Council libraries, by entering the competition at www.facebook.com/BrisbaneLibraries. Entrants must provide their full name, age, gender, email address, phone number and post code. Only one entry per person. If a person enters the competition more than once all subsequent entries will be deemed invalid. 6. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must: (a) be a resident of the City of Brisbane (identified by postcode); (b) fully and legibly complete all the details on the competition entry form; (c) vote on their favourite type of library technology by choosing one from the drop down list provided; (d) be of at least eighteen (18) years of age (proof of age required to receive prize) OR have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter the competition; (e) not be a current employee (permanent, temporary or casual) of Brisbane City Council; 7. Competition Draw: The winner will be randomly drawn by a Council Officer at 9am on 15 July, 2013. The winner of the prize will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into. 8. Winner Notification: The winner will be notified by telephone or email by a Council Officer. The winner will not be officially published in a newspaper, however the winner’s name and the most popular library technology will be promoted via Brisbane Libraries Facebook page. The prizewinner will be announced on the Brisbane Libraries Facebook page at 1pm, 15 July, 2013. 9. Re-Draw: If the winner does not claim the prize or cannot be contacted by telephone or email within seven (7) days of the competition draw date, the Promoter will re-draw the prizewinner until a contactable winner has been located and the prize is claimed. 10. No Liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize. 11. Important – Privacy: No information given by the entrants will be stored on any database. All entries will be destroyed at the completion of the competition. 12. Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition. 12. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions. 13. Council reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants. 14. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Entrants accept that they are providing their information to Brisbane City Council and not to Facebook. Entrants and participants in this competition release Facebook and its associated companies from all liability arising from this competition. This promotion is powered by Buddy Media.
