Denim has a long and gritty history – and Neuw know all about it. Their archive holds around 3500 pairs of vintage jeans, dating back to 1895, and they've dusted one for the latest collection.

It might not be as celebrated as its older neighbour in California, but Nevada had a gold rush too. And like the Californian miners, the Nevada miners needed work wear: denim. Neuw have mined their archive and pulled out the oldest pair – made in 1895 and trapped in a Nevada goldmine from 1907 to 2007.

Neuw's Goldmine range is based on the colours that come through in the vintage selvage: the indigo, the dirt, rust, bleach and salt. They've taken those cues and created something more modern and fitted. Each pair might be inspired by the turn of the century, but they're not old man jeans.

You can find Neuw at these stockists and their SERVICE stores in Melbourne and Sydney, where staff will help you choose the right cut and colour. At the recently opened SERVICE Melbourne they can also tailor any pair to fit.
