5 x ‘The Imposter’ DVDs, courtesy of Madman.

Truth really is stranger than fiction in this superb documentary from director Bart Layton. A Texas family is seemingly convinced that a Frenchman found on the streets of Spain is their long-lost son, despite the differences in looks… and age… and accent. How could they mistake their blonde 13-year-old for this swarthy adult, and how could the FBI fail to notice the many inconsistencies in the bizarre case? The plot that unfolds is full of twists and turns, as well as remarkably candid interviews from both the family and the 'imposter'.

For your chance to score The Imposter on DVD, simply let us know the strangest story you’ve seen depicted in a doco, and why it tops the list. Email us at filmink@filmink.com.au with your answer. Please include your full name and address.
