TERMS AND CONDITIONS “THE STAR’S $500,000 GIVEAWAY” PROMOTION
PROMOTIONAL PERIOD
1. The “THE STAR’S $500,000 GIVEAWAY” promotion (“Promotion”) commences on Thursday 4 July 2013 and ends on Monday 19 August 2013.
2. The Promotion comprises of weekly prize draws (“Weekly Prize Draw/s”) which will be held at 7pm and 9pm on Saturday 20 and 27 July and 3 and 10 August 2013 as well as on Wednesday 24 and 31 July and 7 and 14 August 2013, plus major prize draws (“Major Prize Draws”) at 7pm and 9pm on 18 August 2013.
3. The period during which participants in the Promotion can earn entries into the Saturday Weekly Prize Draws commences at 12.01am on Thursday 18 July and ends at 8.45pm on Saturday 10 August 2013, excluding Sundays to Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8.45pm to 12 midnight. The period during which participants in the Promotion can earn entries into the Wednesday Weekly Prize Draws commences at 12.01am on Sunday 21 July and ends at 8.45pm on Wednesday 14 August 2013, excluding Thursdays to Saturdays and Wednesdays from 8.45pm to 12 midnight. The period during which participants in the Promotion can earn entries into the Major Prize Draws commences at 12.01am on Thursday 18 July and ends at 8.45pm on Sunday 18 August 2013 (“Promotional Period”).ELIGIBILITY
4. Participation in the Promotion is limited to persons who are, insofar as is the case for the duration of the Promotional Period:
a. 18 years of age or over;
b. Absolute Rewards cardholders;
c. not excluded from The Star,
(“Eligible Entrants”).
5. If an Eligible Entrant’s membership status is cancelled or otherwise amended during the Promotional Period so that he or she is no longer an Eligible Entrant, that person will no longer be eligible to enter or participate in the Promotional Period and will forfeit any entitlement to a prize.
PARTICIPATION
6. Under the Promotion, Eligible Entrants receive a maximum of one (1) virtual entry (“Entry”) per day into the Weekly Prize Draws and at the same time a maximum of one (1) Entry per day into the Major Prize Draws when they have a valid open rating in KCMS (Konami Casino Management System) on any table game (excluding electronic table games and Poker) at The Star as set out in clause 3. To achieve a valid open rating, an Eligible Entrant must present their Absolute Rewards membership card (“Card”) at a table prior to commencing play. An Eligible Entrant must close their rating fifteen (15) minutes prior to each draw to receive all Entries they are entitled to into the respective Prize Draw.
7. All Entries will be allocated to a virtual barrel (“Barrel”) for each of the Weekly Prize Draws and to a separate Barrel for the Major Prize Draws. All Entries into the Weekly Prize Draw Barrel will be cleared at the conclusion of each Wednesday and Saturday 9pm Weekly Prize Draw.WEEKLY PRIZE DRAWS
8. The 7pm and 9pm Weekly Prize Draws will be held at a designated location on The Star’s
main gaming floor (“Main Draw Location”).
9. At each 7pm Weekly Prize Draw, one (1) Entry will be randomly selected from the Barrel
(“Randomly Selected Member”). This Entry will be removed from the Barrel. At each 9pm
Weekly Prize Draw, two (2) Entries will be randomly selected from the Barrel. These Entries
will be removed from the Barrel.
10. The name and membership number of the Randomly Selected Members identified (“Drawn
Entrants”) will be announced at the time of the draw at the Main Draw Location and/or on the
public address system in the Main Draw Location within The Star’s main gaming floor.
11. The Promoter does not guarantee that all draw announcements will be audible and
understandable in all parts of the Main Draw Location at all times. Eligible Entrants accept full
responsibility for being able to hear and understand draw announcements.
12. To be eligible to win a prize, a Drawn Entrant must present themselves to the representative
of the Promoter at the Main Draw Location within four (4) minutes of their name being
announced (“Standard Presentation Period”) as timed by the clock displayed at the Main
Draw Location. The Promoter, subject to any directions from the regulatory authority, may at
any time (including after the Standard Presentation Period expires) and at its sole and
absolute discretion, extend the presentation period (“Extended Presentation Period”)
applicable to any particular Drawn Entrant if that Drawn Entrant:
a. is on the The Star premises during the Standard Presentation Period;
b. identifies themselves to the Promoter during the Standard Presentation Period;
c. attempts to present themselves at the Main Draw Location during the Standard
Presentation Period; and
d. is in the course of attempting to present themselves at the Main Draw Location when
the Standard Presentation Period expires.
13. To be eligible to win a prize, a Drawn Entrant must then produce within a further four (4)
minutes their current and valid Absolute Rewards membership card and produce identification
that is valid and acceptable to the Promoter (“Valid ID”).
Valid ID means:
a. a passport, Australian driver’s licence or other form of photographic identification in
which the photograph is clear and undamaged and that is otherwise acceptable to the
Promoter; or
b. two forms of non-photographic identification that are valid and acceptable to the
Promoter,
(“Identification Requirements”).
14. The Promoter may, at its sole and absolute discretion, waive or vary the Identification
Requirements if the identity of a Drawn Entrant is otherwise determinable to the satisfaction of
the Promoter.
15. If the Drawn Entrant for the Prize Draw is deemed an Invalid Entry or the Prize Draw does not
result in the selection of a prize winner (“Prize Winner”), redraws will occur until a valid Prize
Winner is found.
16. The three valid Prize Winners of each Wednesday 7pm and 9pm Weekly Prize Draw will win $10,000 cash each. The three valid Prize Winners of each Saturday 7pm and 9pm Weekly Prize Draw will win $15,000 cash each.
MAJOR PRIZE DRAW
17. The Major Prize Draws will be held at 7pm and 9pm on 18 August 2013.
18. At the 7pm Major Prize Draw one (1) Entry and at the 9pm Major Prize Draw two (2) Entries will be drawn randomly from the Barrel.
19. The Major Prize Draws will proceed in accordance with clauses 10 to 15 until the Prize Winners have been identified.
20. As part of the Major Prize Draws mechanic, there will be three (3) boxes containing $150,000, $40,000 and $10,000. The valid 7pm Prize Winner will pick one of the boxes and will win the amount they reveal. The first drawn valid Prize Winner of the 9pm Major Prize Draw will pick one of the two (2) remaining boxes and will be awarded the amount they reveal. The second drawn valid 9pm Major Prize Draw Prize Winner will win the amount inside the last box.GENERAL
21. The total prize pool is $500,000 in cash. All prizes will be paid by cheque.
22. The Star reserves the right to cancel or change the prizes offered under the Promotion if there are any changes to the law which would or might render the Promotion or any prizes offered under the Promotion unlawful.
23. No prize, entry or other feature of the Promotion can be transferred or redeemed for other goods or services.
24. An independent Scrutineer or non-independent Scrutineer approved by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing will be present at the time of any draw, if required.
25. Conduct of the entire Promotion, including decisions on the eligibility of persons to enter and validity of entry and prizes, shall be the responsibility of the Promoter. The Promoter’s decisions in relation to the conduct of the Promotion are final.
26. To the extent that a situation, malfunction, or other issue arises for which these terms and conditions make no provision or in relation to which the relevant terms and conditions are unclear, The Star reserves the right to (a) make a decision regarding those circumstances which is not inconsistent with these terms and conditions; and/or (b) postpone the draw(s) to a time and place which will allow the draw to be conducted in accordance with all terms and conditions other than those terms and conditions which specify the time and place of the draw(s).
27. Should any prize winners fail to claim their prizes, The Star will make arrangements, in accordance with Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing requirements, for a redraw to distribute the unclaimed prizes.
28. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered or claimed, including, but no limited to, indirect or consequential loss or damage, personal injury or death, and direct or indirect loss or damage by an entrant in relation to entering or participating in this Promotion or taking or using the prizes offered except where that loss, damage or injury was caused by breach of these terms and conditions by the Promoter or the wilful or negligent acts or omissions of the Promoter. To avoid any doubt the Promoter shall not be liable for loss caused by technical and mechanical malfunction which is outside the control of the Promoter.
29. Directors, management and employees of any of the ECHO ENTERTAINMENT GROUP of companies (including, without limitation, The Star and Jupiters companies) and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the Promotion.
30. Participation in the Promotion by an Eligible Entrant confirms acceptance of the terms and conditions governing The Star membership programs and the Promotion.
31. The Promoter may disclose your personal information including details of Prize Winners where the Promoter is required or authorised to do so by or under law or where the disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce the law. This may occur under the laws that apply to our business, for example, where a regulatory authority requests information from us.
32. Should a Prize Winner consent to having his/her photograph taken, that Prize Winner consents to having his/her name and photograph published in any form of media and agrees to participate in any reasonable promotion requested by The Star.

34. The laws of the state of New South Wales govern the Promotion.
