My mum is coeliac (amongst other allergies) and it has made me hyper aware of the food I eat and the way it makes me feel. Don’t get me wrong here, I’m no healthy-living purist, there’s a whole lot of junk that passes my lips but I’m more aware of the cause and effect of putting something in my mouth that I know makes my sinuses or digestive tract flare up.

Too much dairy is a huge no-no for me although I can get away with a little bit and often choose to suffer for chocolate or cheesecake (especially if they’re together!). Wheat is another no-no that I say yes-yes to, the lure of warm bread fresh from the oven and slathered in butter is just too much and I’m a big fan of… well cake in general.
