How fabulous are these Jaipuri handprinted linen cushions by Melbourne based, Indian born, Textile/Graphic designer Shakira Lima? Under her label Shakiraaz, Shakira creates beautiful handmade homewares inspired by her heritage and her love for bold, bright pattern and design. Shakiraaz is all about beautiful textiles and products, hand-woven, hand-printed or hand-painted products that are completely unique and original. Apart from creating her own designs, Shakira, also sources products directly from Indian artisans, at local fairs and markets in India, in turn helping the artisans sustain a livelihood and thus, showcasing their traditional techniques combined with a contemporary edge, to an international market.

With an aim to creating a sustainable brand, Shakiraaz, mainly uses eco-friendly dyes, natural and raw fabrics and hand-spun traditional techniques, that leave a less harmful stamp on the environment. Read more about the printing process on the Shaikraaz blog.
