A SIX-man tribute band to the hit 1970s rock band The Eagles have taken original fans by storm with their rendition of some of Australia's favourites.
Desperado aims to fill the void left by The Eagles and combine powerful vocals, catchy harmonies and strong musicianship - not dissimilar from The Eagles - in the tribute performance The Eagles Show.
The band's logic was international surveys showed punters voted The Eagles the most popular contemporary band of all time, ahead of The Beatles and The Beach Boys, and so crowds would revel in a tribute version of Eagles songs.
The band was not wrong. Their tribute landed them the 2013 ACE Award for Best Tribute Show, among multiple other awards in 2012 and 2013.
Desperado members agreed they felt a "buzz" every time audiences would connect with The Eagles Show.
Crowds can catch the award-winning performance at the Nelson Bay Bowling Club over 18s gig on Friday, December 6, at 8.30pm.
The broad line-up of songs includes the favourites Hotel California and Tequila Sunrise.
