The event will be one of the Australian Chamber Orchestra's biggest concerts this year as they team up with London's top choral baroque specialists from professional chamber choirs and opera companies.
Christmas Oratorio director and violinist Richard Tognetti will lead the group in the Sydney Opera House performance.
The orchestra and choir together illuminate the story of Christ's birth through Bach's kaleidoscopic alternations in instrumentation, solos and choruses. The purpose behind the chosen music was to elicit a powerful response from audiences.
"Bach stands alone as the greatest composer," Tognetti said.
"You cry tears of pain out of one eye and tears of joy out of the other."
The ultimate choir partnership will perform on Monday, December 16 at 6.30pm at the Sydney Opera House.
