A man fights a photocopier live on stage for an entire hour whilst having an existential midlife crisis on a sailing boat*. Death Of A Sails-Man is a true story performed by the inimitable Sam Simmons and will be at the Brisbane Comedy Festival for six nights only.
Home briefly from his base in LA and fresh from his debut appearance on the comedy powerhouse Conan in the US, Sam is about to go off like a prawn in a hot sock! Sam held down his own weekly show at the Virgil in Hollywood, inviting the cream of American indie comedy into his world. He took the stage in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and in London with a sell out West End run. A true global comedian, Sam has now settled (as much as he ever does) in LA, dreaming up improbable ideas and saying them out loud to important people.
Sam is our grand master of suburban absurdism and created and starred in one of the most exciting and offbeat Australian TV sketch comedy show in decades, Problems, on ABC1 in 2012 - a show which starred Ronny Chieng as a cat and may lead to the patent of the Christmas Samoan.
Death Of A Sails-Man is taking shape in Sam’s head as we speak. There will be office equipment, wind surfing, some time travel and some intense moustache yelling.
