Flickerfest is coming to Canberra on Thursday the 20th of March to screen a smorgasboard of short films. Over 2,300 entries were whittled down for inclusion into the ‘Best of Australian Shorts’ program. Canberra filmmaker Lucas Li’s entry Horrie , which tells the heart warming tale of a war dog who becomes a Mediterranean hero, was highly commended by the Academy Accredited Flickerfest jury and will be screened as part of the event. Other highlights include The Chuck In – a comedy about boys, beers and plans by a writer from acclaimed ABC series Redfern Now and Tango Underpants, a sobering reminder of the importance of choosing the right underwear.
