Widely regarded as one of the top rising stars of Australian comedy Brisbane’s Damien Power has sold out shows around Australia.
Power’s material is as dynamic as it is accessible, covering everything from personal stories about his brother Will Power (a famous Indy car driver) to formidable political and social commentary. Having perfected his work around the country for years in pubs and festivals and all the way to the Sydney Opera House, Damien Power knows how to command an audience.
And we’re not the only ones who think so - hot off the back of his 2013 sell out Melbourne International Comedy Festival season and subsequent Best Newcomer Award nomination, Damien was chosen by Jack Black to support Tenacious D on their Australian tour.
Momentum for Damien Power started to build in 2012 when was selected by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to perform in their exclusive showcase of Australia’s best emerging comedians, The Comedy Zone. Later the same year he was nominated for Best Comedy at the Sydney Fringe Festival for his solo show Monkeys in Space.
Now a full time stand-up comedian, Damien Power is carving his credentials through comedy clubs and festivals across the country. His new solo show, Keit, will premiere in his hometown of Brisbane before it tours across the rest of the country.
