The Tiger & Me presents ‘Party Like It’s 1929′- a return to their roots to host a hedonistic vintage party. From high society to the carnival via the cabaret lounge, The Tiger & Me invite you to join them in your finest vintage threads.

The Tiger & Me cut its teeth playing up-tempo shows into the early hours; with recent tours focusing on sit-down concerts they’re ready to blow the cobwebs off their speakeasy gear and light up the night with an evening that will be half cabaret-pop extravaganza, half gypsy-fiesta, half Gatsby-party and the rest will just be a good time.

FEATURING:

The Tiger & Me
Described by Inpress Magazine as “Cabaret/Circus/Euro Indie Folk-Pop Wunderkinds”, Melbourne quintet The Tiger & Me weave a rare mixture of styles and sounds as three lead vocalists exchange and merge tunes from theatrical pop to gypsy-folk.

Andrew Nolte and his Orchestra
Melbourne’s very own 1920′s dance orchestra will be performing for your dancing, dining, drinking and listening pleasure, showcasing the music of wireless, stage and silver screen of the 1920s. The band not only wears vintage, plays vintage instruments and orchestrations, but also SOUNDS vintage. Be prepared to be transported back in time with this band.

Apple Ida
Apple Ida carries the soul of a woman with a birthdate some time around 1914, bringing the dusty forgotten songs of the early 20th century to life. Apple Ida and her Cider Press Band specialise in the Great Gatsby era jazz of the 20s and 30s, and this traditional songbook is complimented by Apple Ida’s own original compositions written in homage to the great Tin Pan Alley composers past.

Melbourne’s beloved filmmaking and screening collective, Beg Scream and Shout will be back in 2014, showcasing a swag full of work and collaborations at The Shadow Electric on February 13th, including live performances by Montero and Fatti Francis, along with experimental projections by Lightmares, TAM Projects, Tess Hamilton and more.

Sprouting in 2009, when a handful of local artists, musicians and filmmakers decided to screen their wares in interesting settings that would complement their films, Beg, Scream and Shout has since flourished from band rooms and art galleries around Melbourne, to it’s now, yearly location at Shadow Electric Open Air Cinema in Abbotsford Convent.

After selling out Shadow Electric in 2013, with films and performance by The UV Race, Johann Rashid, Geoffery O’Conner, Mikey Leonard and Tooth & Claw, this year, Beg, Scream and Shout is taking it one step further, with three experimental film projects commissioned specifically for Beg, Scream & Shout and accompanied by live musical performances.

Incorporating two stages, Montero will ease into the night with a psychedelic sunset show, including new animations by Ben Montero on the main stage as the bats streak across the sky. TAM Projects, Tess Hamilton and The Beg Scream and Shout Collective have teamed up with a variety of local musicians, including synth master,Gerald Wells and Avant-garde band, Glasfrosch for a handful of experimental pieces.

Closing the night inside, Brendan Harwood’s Lightmares project will meld with Fatti Francis’ experimental RnB. Customised visuals mapped to Fatti Francis’ doom-like bass, erratic and tormented beats and projected onto a 3D geometric sculptural backdrop.

Beg Scream and Shout showcases the creative forces of Melbourne’s up coming artists in a collaborative and engaging space.
