The Turning deftly weaves together the lives of multiple ordinary people living in a small costal community. One would think that anything by Tim Winton would be impossible to turn into a film. Except that each chapter was made by a different film maker. So it’s actually like 18 different films thrown together. Whether or not this is a recipe for success is yet to be seen (unless of course you’ve already seen it and that is why you want it), but Warrick Thorton and Mia Wasikowska of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland fame were both involved.
