Directed by Lenny Abrahamson, Frank tells the tale of a would-be musician named Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) who joins an avant-garde pop band – only to find his musical pursuits will be led by a mysterious musical genius, who hides his face inside a fake head. Together with Frank (Michael Fassbender) and frightening bandmate Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal), Jon’s new group is a sight to behold. Inspired by Frank Sidebottom – the alter ego of musician Chris Sievey – and on the memoirs of writer Jon Ronson, Frank is an unconventional yet funny film about an unlikely trio.
