5 x ‘The Two Faces of January' books, courtesy of Hachette Live

Read the book, then see the film!

Two men meet in the picturesque backstreets of Athens. Chester MacFarlane is a conman with multiple false identities, near the end of his rope and on the run with his young wife Colette. Rydal Keener is a young drifter looking for adventure: he finds it in one evening as the law catches up to Chester and Colette, and their fates become fatally entwined.

As you can see by the schmick new book cover, legendary thriller writer, Patricia Highsmith’s (The Talented Mr Ripley, Strangers on a Train) novel has been adapted for the screen, starring Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac, who recently wowed us with his leading roles in the Coens’ Inside Llewyn Davis. About to launch at the Sydney Film Festival, and hitting cinemas around Australia from June 19, here is your chance to read the book that inspired screenwriter Hossein Amini (Drive) to step into the director’s chair for the first time.

For your chance to win a copy of The Two Faces of January book, simply let us know who your favourite thriller writer is, and why. Email us at filmink@filmink.com.au with your answer. Please include your full name and address.
