Score tickets to see Richard Linklater’s buzzed about new epic before it hits cinemas.In an unprecedented cinematic undertaking, Richard Linklater’s new film, Boyhood, was filmed over twelve years, and charts the development of a boy, Mason (Ellar Coltrane), between the ages of six and 18 – who we watch actually grow up on screen. While young Mason is the focus, Boyhood sensitively portrays the lives of those closest to him as well: his sister Samantha (Lorelei Linklater, the director's daughter) and divorced parents (Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette). We watch as they also grow older naturally, in sync with their characters, creating both a unique coming-of-age tale and a revealing, deeply moving study of ageing.
