What’s left is a post-apocalyptic landscape inhabited by ruthless paramilitary groups and heroic freedom fighters. Charlie Matheson, a fiercely determined young woman who lost family members in the blackout’s tragic aftermath, manages to form a new family and find a new purpose amidst the chaos.
At the end of season one, the group managed to briefly turn the power back on, only to discover that former Dept. of Defence Secretary Randall Flynn had used those four minutes to launch his sinister “patriot scheme” and deploy nuclear warheads against the Eastern seaboard.
Now, as season two begins, it has been three months since the destruction of Philadelphia and Atlanta. The rebels have dissipated licking their wounds and lying low. While Charlie sets off on a vision quest in the Plains Nation, a desperate Neville and Jason search the Georgian Refugee Camp for their beloved Julia. Though our heroes are scattered around the continent, one thing is clear: that harrowing trip to the Tower created some peculiar circumstances and altered the political landscape of the continent and as for our heroes… well they are changed too.
