Focusing a lens on the bloody world of crime journalism in Los Angeles, Nightcrawler follows Lou Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal), a newcomer to TV news reporting, as he rises through the ranks of carnage cataloguing. As he traverses the seedy neighbourhoods of LA looking for a serial scoop, Lou is seduced by the money and the rush of being first on the scene, but soon finds the limits of decency tested. Nightcrawler is directed by Dan Gilroy and also stars Rene Russo and Bill Paxton.
