Win a wi-fi telescope! Or an iPad for your school
All you have to do is register for Galaxy Explorer and classify at least 10 galaxies to enter into the competition.
And the more galaxies you classify the more competition entries you’ll get – one entry for each 10 classifications.
This competition is open to Australian residents. If you’re under 18 you’ll need the permission of your parent or carer.
Main prize
There are two Celestron Cosmos 90GT Wi-fi Telescopes (RRP $1,099.95 each) up for grabs – this telescope can be controlled with an app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

Prizes for school groups
Win an iPad for your school and get to name a star!
Teachers can register their school group or class so that students can take part and their work will count towards the group’s efforts.
Once the group has classified 10 galaxies collectively, they will gain one entry into the competition to win a prize for their school. And the more galaxies you classify the more competition entries you’ll get – one entry for each 10 classifications.
There are two school prizes, each containing an iPad Air 2 16GB Wi-fi tablet (RRP $619) and a star naming gift package with the International Star Registry ($110)
To enter…
+ An individual (usually the teacher) needs to register their school group for Galaxy Explorer.
+ They then provide login (username and password) details to all participating students and collectively transcribe at least 10 galaxies.
+ The group will get one competition entry for every 10 galaxies they do.
+ The entrant must be an Australian resident representing an Australian primary or secondary school group and not a company or organisation, and must be at least 18 years of age.
+ The schools competition is open to Australian schools.

Competition dates
The competition opens on Friday July 31, 2015 and closes at 11:59pm (AEST) on Friday 4th September, 2015.
The winner will be contacted and announced online on Friday September 11, 2015.
