Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel star in the latest film, Youth, a beautifully crafted study of age, memory, love and yearning directed by Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty).

Fred (Michael Caine) and Mick (Harvey Keitel), two old friends, are on vacation in a luxury hotel at the foot of the Swiss Alps. Fred, a world-class composer and conductor, is now retired.

"It sounds pensive and melancholic and it is, yet it’s also celebratory, baroque and unpredictable, packed with visual and musical gags" - The Observer

Mick, a film director, is still working, hopeful that his latest film will be his masterpiece. Together, they look with curiosity and tenderness on their children’s confused lives, muse on the activities of the hotel guests and are forced to face the weight of memories that accompany time.

While Mick scrambles to finish the screenplay for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no intention of resuming his musical career. But someone wants at all costs to hear him conduct again.

"Mr. Sorrentino’s brightly effusive visual imagination can be intoxicating; almost every scene gives something worth looking at — a mountain landscape, a beauty queen strutting about in all her glory, Mr. Caine’s wonderful face, by turns delicate and stony." - The New York Times

From Academy Award® winning director Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty), and co-starring Jane Fonda, Rachel Weisz and Paul Dano, comes a poignant story of friendship, family, love, loss and the yearning to makes sense of it all.

Youth is in cinemas Boxing Day, December 26.
