Head to South Bank’s River Quay and celebrate Australia Day at Great Australian Bites from Saturday January 23 to Tuesday January 26.
The event will feature local culinary leaders and will showcase quality Queensland ingredients, with a variety of taster plates and drinks available from pop-up food stalls from some of Brisbane’s best restaurants. There will also be a program of live entertainment on offer across the four days, as local artists take the stage.
To celebrate the 2016 return of the four-day Great Australian Bites event at South Bank this Australia Day, The Weekend Edition is giving away a one-on-one food experience with nutritionist, cook and Taste contributor Georgia Barnes.
The winner will take part in a two-hour produce market tour with Georgia where they will meet the growers, discuss seasonality of fruits and vegetables, as well as healthy recipes. As part of this exclusive experience Georgia will share her industry knowledge and may even divulge some of the behind the scenes detail from her time on Channel Ten’s MasterChef Australia where she placed as the 2015 runner-up.
The winner, plus nine lucky runners-up, will receive a $40 Great Australian Bites gift voucher which is redeemable for food and beverage across the four days of the Great Australian Bites Event.

The Grand Prize is a one-on-one fresh produce market tour with nutritionist, Taste Magazine contributor and 2015 MasterChef Australia runner-up Georgia Barnes, plus a $40 Great Australian Bites Gift Voucher to be redeemed for food and beverage at the Great Australian Bites Event from Saturday January 23 to Tuesday January 26. There is a total of one grand prize valued at $2040.00.
The Runners-up Prizes are nine $40 Great Australian Bites Gift Vouchers to be redeemed for food and beverage at the Great Australian Bites Event from Saturday January 23 to Tuesday January 26. There are a total of nine (9) prizes, valued at $40 each.
The Prizes are non transferrable
The one-on-one experience with Georgia Barnes is for a maximum of two people and the date and time is to be determined in negotiated with the winners and Georgia Barnes. The prize is valid for three months from the date of drawing.
Travel and parking costs must be covered by the winners
The Great Australian Bites gift vouchers are only redeemable at the 2016 Great Australian Bites Event from Saturday January 23 to Tuesday January 26.

To participate in the Competition, the entrant must subscribe or have subscribed to The Weekend Edition’s e-news.

Entrants must fully and correctly complete and submit the entry form on The Weekend Edition website. If you do not supply the information, your entry will be deemed invalid. You may only enter this competition once.

The Prize is not negotiable or redeemable for cash.
The Prize must be redeemed by the Prize Winner.
Eligibility: to be eligible to enter this Competition, a person must:
be over 18 years of age
be permanent residents of the State of Queensland
fully and correctly complete and submit the entry form on The Weekend Edition website
not be employees of The Weekend Edition and their immediate families, the staff of companies involved in the production, publishing and administration of this promotion and their immediate family means parents, siblings, defacto, spouse, children and grandparents.
Competition Dates: The Competition closes Friday January 22, 2016 at 10:00 am. All entries must be received by the Promoter by 10:00 am on Friday January 22, 2016.
Competition Draw: The Winner will be randomly drawn on Friday January 22, 2016 by 10:01 am AEST at The Weekend Edition Office, Red Hill. The Winner of the Prize will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn. The decision will be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winner Notification: The Weekend Edition will notify winners by phone and email. The Weekend Edition reserves the right to use information regarding the Winners of the Competition for marketing purposes, including publication of their names on the websites maintained by the Promoter.
No liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the Prizes to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the Competition or acceptance of the Prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the Prize.
The Promoter reserves the right to alter or amend these terms and conditions and/or cancel the Competition at any time prior to the Competition opening without further recourse to the entrants.

Force Majeure: If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. The Promoter reserves the right it its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition.
In the case of intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolution discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start with the same conditions.
