Did you know that there’s an interactive horror movie camping festival that’s licensed, features live music, and shows short horror films as well as a classic, crowd-voted double feature? Well, we didn’t either and we basically fell off our chair when we found out. Our intern went straight out and bought tickets for all his mates and we decided we’re going to take along our most fearful friend and write an article about how truly shit-scared he gets (don’t worry, we’ll point him out to you on the day so you can run at him with a rubber chainsaw).
So anyways, we dropped the good folks at The Horror Movie Campout a line and they’ve kindly donated 2x double-passes for us to give away to you guys. Following the huge success of both its Adelaide and Melbourne events in 2015, this is the Horror Movie Campout’s first run in Sydney (or close by, rather) and is to be held on Saturday March 12th in the eerie parklands of Mount Penang on the Central Coast.
Campers will be clinging to the edge of their seats throughout the afternoon with a band line-up that includes possessed hard-rockers The Lazys, as well as the ‘Hidden Garden’ featuring DJ Rawhide Kid, roaming scare actors, the ‘Death Chamber’ scare maze, and much more.
As darkness falls a massive outdoor cinema will fire up with intense short horror flicks, followed by a double feature of horror films selected by campers’ votes prior to the event. Horror Movie Campout is an 18+ event and is fully licensed, but not BYO. For more info check out moviecampout.com.au
