Then get ready for a trip down memory lane on Friday June 17 as the National Museum of Australia hosts the biggest kid's party just for grown ups' with Night at the Museum: Play School! It's an evening inspired by Happy Birthday Play School: Celebrating 50 Years currently on show until Sunday July 24 in the Museum’s studio gallery.
With sparkle, wonder, and more than just fairy bread; the museum continues its renowned adults’ only evenings with a night of delight and nostalgia. Come and experience the Museum after hours. Play, wonder and imagination will abound. There are a number of activities planned for the night, including The Ridiculous Show (by magician, clown and theatrical entertainer, Pablo Latona), Pimp Your Party Hat (no hat, no play!), Putting Play School Together (with Museum curator Dr Sophie Jensen), Brother J (Spinning 90s nostalgia to set the mood), Retro Gaming – On Like Donkey Kong! (featuring N64’s, Super Nintendo and a PS1) and more.
The night is for over 18s only, and starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are $15 + bf via nma.gov.au/nightmuseum, or $18 on the door. Dress up as your favourite childhood character or in your very best party dress!
