The Wait follows Anna (Juliette Binoche), a single mum living on a remote estate in Italy, as she mourns the death of her son before receiving a surprising guest, Jeanne (Lou de Laâge), who says she’s his girlfriend. Too shellshocked to break the news to Jeanne, what ensures is part slow-burning cat and mouse game, part arthouse ghost story.
