Jesus Christ, kid. Few people are born to play the role of a boozing, bullshitting and butt-xxxing mall Santa, but damn it if Billy Bob Thornton isn’t one of those people. He returns to the screen as everyone’s favourite anti-hero, fuelled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred. Thornton’s Willie Soke teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus, to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Thurman Merman’s along for the ride, now a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie’s sliver of humanity. Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Kathy Bates, who plays Willie’s horror story of a mother, the super butch super bitch Sunny Soke. To cap things off, Willie is burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, played by Mad Men alum Christina Hendricks, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel.
