If you’ve never received something for V-day, tell me about your best gift, in general. Me? Well I’ve certainly had some interesting gifts over the past 22 years with hubby. Some more memorable than others.
Like the time hubby attempted to cook Steak Dianne, my favourite meal at the time. It was our first Valentine’s Day together as a married couple and hubby was trying his best to impress on a budget. He approached a chef friend for the recipe and some much needed tips but mistook three cloves of garlic in the sauce for three whole garlics.
Funnily enough (although I don’t remember it being funny at the time), I could smell the disaster meal a suburb away and the aroma lingered on in our tiny apartment for many months. Needless to say, Steak Dianne is no longer my favourite meal and hubby has taken a few cooking classes since then.
