Winning Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival, Diane Kruger gives a powerhouse performance, as she plays a mother dealing with the aftermath of her husband and son’s death in a neo-nazi hate crime. Her quest for justice soon pushes her to the edge as the two suspects stand trial for murder. German-Turkish director, Fatih Akin, is highly rated in international film for his passion in tackling contemporary issues using equal amounts of humour and tragedy in his films. In the Fade confronts the horror of far-right extremist attacks in the mid-2000s and its portrayal has won it a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film and an Oscar nomination. With a score written by Queens of the Stone Age lead singer, Josh Homme, the film is in fact named after a song from the American rock band.
