Proton packs at the ready, the iconic '80s hit Ghostbusters is being brought back from the dead by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra later on this year.

The story of supernatural crime-fighting quartet Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore will be heading to Hamer Hall in late April for four shows over two nights. The award-winning film, directed by Ivan Reitman, will be screened while the MSO perform Elmer Bernstein's incredible film soundtrack — including the unforgettable theme song.
