The 2019 German Film Festival showcases the best new German cinema across all genres with a curated selection of 31 films. A special programme strand 'Tear Down the Walls' commemorates 30 years cine the fall of the wall while.
The opening night feature is 'BALLOON'. The film a box office hit in Germany and a perfect fit to celebrate the 2019 - 30th anniversary of the fall of the wall, based on true events, from 1961 to 1988: 75,000 East Germans were jailed for trying to escape to the west.
